Welcome to Friedens Church!
No matter where you are on life`s journey there is a place for you here.

  • Revive Youth Ministry

    Middle and high school students have a faith that comes to life in the ministries of Friedens UCC.  Many opportunities are offered for young people to:
    Stay focused on our mission of sharing the love of Christ.
    Go deeper in our relationship with Christ so that we might follow his way of compassion and justice faithfully.
    Reach wider with Christ’s love so that more and more people know that they are loved and loving children of God too.

    The purpose of this youth ministry is to help students identify and use their God-given gifts to be faithful disciples of Christ—an identity that will provide meaning and purpose for our members and friends of any age throughout their lives.

    Some of the ministry events include:

    ~Sunday morning breakfast and spiritual discussion;

    ~Worship Sunday mornings at 8:30 or 10:30

    ~Music opportunities throughout the year with our Youth Choir and Orchestra or our Chancel Choir

    ~Events especially designed for boys and girls to explore topics relevant to each group separately;

    ~Service opportunities throughout the year

  • Confirmation Class and Rite of Confirmation

    Students who are in the eighth grade or older are invited to participate in confirmation class from August through April.
    The confirmation class involves meeting with a mentor once a month and participating in a group conversation once a month.

    What to expect:
    Each month we focus on thinking about a different aspect of the amazing God we serve.
    We invite students to consider and reflect upon why they would like to make a commitment to follow Jesus and become a member of Friedens United Church of Christ.

    If a student chooses to make a public affirmation, he or she is invited to participate in the rite of confirmation on Palm Sunday.

    Students are invited to write a paper sharing their beliefs about God, the church, God’s extravagant and holy welcome of all, and their call to share the love of Christ with their God-given talents.

    Meeting with a mentor helps each student build a relationship with another adult and gives each student an opportunity to talk with others about their faith.  These meetings are in a public space in order to keep with the safe church policies which help to provide a warm and healthy environment for all.

    Those interested in the confirmation process are asked to contact Pastor Sarah at pastorsarah@friedensucc.org
