Key Notes from the reading & sermon:

While they were eating, he took a loaf of bread, and after blessing it he broke it, gave it to them, and said, “Take; this is my body.” Then he took a cup, and after giving thanks he gave it to them, and all of them drank from it. He said to them, “This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many. Truly I tell you, I will never again drink of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.”

When they had sung the hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives. And Jesus said to them, “You will all become deserters; for it is written,‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.’ But after I am raised up, I will go before you to Galilee.”

But after I am raised up, I will go before you to Galilee.

I believe Jesus knew the risk he was taking by going into Jerusalem. He knew the risk and he made a choice. We are making choices in midst of this crisis too and like Jesus we make them faithfully, with the promise that we will gather again one day.

Questions for Reflection:

What are some memories you have of being community here at Friedens?

Does being in community with one another require physical closeness?

What kind of joys are you finding in being in virtual community?

What are you finding difficult about it?

When this crisis begins to end what do you think will be difficult in the return to "normal"?

What does the church, and particularly Friedens, look like after the crisis is over?
