Key Notes from the reading & sermon:
The Biblical idea of penitence of repentance is the action of turning toward God and being transformed by God’s grace through Christ
The Prayer of Humility:
The prayer that can helps us turn toward God with an open and humble heart is the Lord’s Prayer.
Matthew 6: 9-13 “Pray then like this: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.’”
The Practice of Penitence:
Praying the Lord’s Prayer daily is an important step toward God. Remember, you are God’s beloved child. Admit your need for God’s grace through Christ and allow that grace to begin to transform you into a faithful disciple.
Questions for Reflection:
Can you name a time when prayer turned a day around?
