The Bells Call Us To Worship |
Prelude: Here I Am, Lord - Schutte, Arr. Linker |
*Call to Worship: Rev. Sarah Haas |
One: I was glad when they said unto to me, let us go into the house of the Lord.
All: Let us enter this place with love in our hearts. One: We gather together to pray, to listen, to sing, to lay hands, to receive the good news. All: Let us call on the Holy Spirit, that its passion be felt and its will be done. One: May the meditations of our hearts and the praise of our voices be pleasing unto you, O God. All: Amen. |
*Processional Hymnn: For All the Saints (#637, v. 1-4) |
Welcome: Rev. Marc Hayden |
Hymn of Adoration: Love Divine, All Loves Excelling (#517) |
*Prayer of Confession and Assurance of Pardon: Rev. Dr. Keith Phillips |
One: Let us pray.
All: God of our ancestors, of Abraham and Sarah, of Isaac and Ishmael, we look back on our past, on our history, and we ask for your forgiveness. Your son came and reminded us that the first commandment is to love you with our whole hearts, and that the second is like it, to love our neighbor as ourselves. We confess that we have not always loved you whole heartedly and we have not always loved others the way we love ourselves. Forgive us, for these missteps in our lives. Renew our spirits, strengthen our faith, and grant us the courage to pursue your love and your justice in the world. Amen. One: Through God’s mercy and grace we are forever and always forgiven. The past is finished and gone, everything has become fresh and new. Beloved children of God, through Christ Jesus, you are forgiven. Friends, believe the good news of the Gospel. |
